Description
The first performance of this work was on a weekly
recital at Oklahoma Baptist University in the fall
of 1967. It was interesting to watch (listen to) the
overall reaction of the students and professors.

Obviously this is not the first piece of music to
explore silence. John Cage and Lukas Foss
(Baroque Variations) had previously dealt with it.

My own personal reason for the work was as an
anti-war thought. I had toured the Far East the
previous summer and was moved to being a "dove"
on the subject of Viet Nam.
